Forest Lake Sportsmen’s Club
The Forest Lake Sportsmen's Club was incorporated in 1937 and is home to three separate gates: Gate 1, a rifle and pistol range; Gate 2, a shotgun sports range; and Gate 3, action bays and 3D archery. Gate 2 features 6 Trap Fields, 2 Skeet Fields, a Five-Stand layout, and a Sporting Clays Course.
While working at FLSC, I had the opportunity to create a wide range of design materials to enhance their events and activities. This involved developing visually eye-catching event posters, intricate scorecards, user-friendly maps, coupon cards, and a detailed, informative brochure that effectively showcased the club's amenities and services. Each project was designed to represent FLSC's unique identity, highlighting its rich history, diverse range of offerings, and the rustic atmosphere that comes with the shooting sports experience.
In the summer of 2024, FLSC transitioned into a new Sporting Clays course. The goal was to give shooters more options with the course, so it was changed from a previous 12-station course to two 7-station, 50-bird courses or one 14-station, 100-bird course. This allowed for three-course options compared to one. A new scorecard was needed to support the change.
This scorecard was unique to the course because it helped support all three-course options. It was based on the shooting menu at each station for either the 7-station halves of the course or the entire 14-station course.
It was then printed as a double-sided scorecard to create a more resourceful experience for league shooters or customers of a full group, who could shoot either half of 7 stations or all 14 stations.
Along with the new scorecard design, an updated map displaying the new stations' locations on the course was also designed.
In the summer of 2023, FLSC changed its Sporting Clays course from a 10-station to a 12-station course and needed a new scorecard designed to support the change.
This scorecard was designed to be unique to the course because it was based on the shooting menu at each station, with a description of the menus featured on the side. It was also designed for league groups with enough scoring sections for the maximum number of league members. Along with the new scorecard design, a new map was required to accompany it and support the change by displaying where the new stations were located on the course.
